Geraint loved being with people and was a natural entertainer, finding any opportunity to sing, play or dance. He enjoyed learning to play anything new on his guitar and found any opportunity possible to entertain his friends.
The guitar accompanied him on many rugby trips, parties and pub outings. There was always a charity event, dinner dance or party invitation on the go, Geraint would always ask “Shall I take the guitar?”
In March 2010, Geraint was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The journey through treatment was not going to interfere with his plans for life. Even as Geraint’s illness progressed he was determined to live life to the full, his humour and cheerfulness continued. The guitar continued to make an appearance at any event possible, even during St. David’s staff home visits!
The staff at St. David’s are truly amazing people, supporting us as a family and our friends. They were there from the first phone call and diagnosis, and the nurses supported Geraint during his first chemotherapy in 2012. Without their dedication and support the seven year journey would have been so different.
So, it seems right to hold a party and Gig4Geraint, let’s smile, sing, dance and raise much needed funds for St David’s Hospice in Geraint’s name.
